WHAT IS "CAPS"?
The National Association of Home Builders (NAHB), in collaboration with AARP and other experts, developed the Certified Aging-in-Place Specialist (CAPS) program. It is a program designed to help identify the unique needs of older individuals, who desire to live independently in their own home.
A Certified Aging-in-Place Specialist can:
Recommend updates that will help a person live independently in their own home.
Work with a contractor and/or health professionals to develop a home modification plan based on the safety and functional needs of an individual or household.
Collaborate with a licensed contractor or interior designer about design strategies and techniques for creating attractive, barrier-free living spaces.
Provide information about building codes and standards, and useful products and resources to promote a safe, active and independent lifestyle.
Our personnel are certified CAPS professionals and are available to evaluate your home or your loved one's home to provide a safe and independent lifestyle filled with dignity and respect.
